Gamification, and the broader use of behavioral techniques, is used increasingly in financial services. When used well, gamification can be a powerful tool for engagement, literacy, and driving outcomes. However, these same techniques can also be leveraged by firms to drive excessive trading, induce trading in complex or high-risk products, or encourage other harmful behaviors, all at the expense of clients.
In this webinar, Sivananth Ramachandran, CFA, CIPM, will describe the various gamification techniques and how they act on investor biases. He will also describe the capital market implications of gamification, and some recommendations on how these techniques can be made to work for investors, rather than against their interests.
