Bitcoin, the first substantially decentralised cryptoasset, was a technological breakthrough and paved the way for further technological advances in the space of distributed ledger technology. Melina Skouridou, CFA and Olivier Chemla are going to provide a credit rating agency perspective on cryptoassets, stablecoins and central bank digital currencies and will shed light on their implications for sovereigns (e.g. monetary policy, financial stability and supervision) and commercial banks (e.g. retail CBDCs, payment structures, ledger design).
