Biography

Holding a diploma in Business Administration from Georg-August-University Göttingen, Kirsten Baumbach startet her career in the Financial Services Organisation at Ernst & Young GmbH, Eschborn, in 2008. In Audit Banking, she worked on different engagements related to external financial reporting for large and complex banks.

Kirsten specialized as a manager with a focus on accounting and valuation issues related to financial instruments of banks‘ trading and treasury business including hegde accounting. She was also responsible for audit of clients‘ compliance with regulatory requirements and provided project-related audits of front office system- and subledger-implementations with technical expertise. She also advised clients during the IFRS 9 implementation and participated in an Asset Quality Review.

In 2019, Kirsten joined Deutsche Bundesbank. As a member of the Strategic Office responsible for SSM Supervision and JST Coordination at the Directorate General “Banking and Financial Supervision” she is responsible for consulting on technical matters and risk-based analyses regarding different supervisory and regulatory developments. Collaborating with policy units, joint supervisory teams as well as experts from different national and international institutions, she advises Senior Management and Management Board Members and supports different expert groups.

Kirsten is CFA Charterholder since 2015.
