Dr. Jörg Kukies
Jörg is co-chief executive officer of Germany and Austria at Goldman Sachs. In this role, he shares overall responsibility for the firm’s business across this region. Jörg is also head of Securities Division Sales across Germany and Austria. He is a member of the Securities Division Client and Business Standards Committee.
Jörg joined Goldman Sachs in 2000 as a summer associate in the Equities Division and rejoined the firm as an associate in 2001. He has been involved in structuring and executing derivatives transactions with clients in the banking, insurance and asset management industries. Jörg was deputy head of the Securities Division in Germany and Austria until 2011, when he became head of EMEA Equity Derivative Sales, transferring from Frankfurt to London. Jörg returned to Frankfurt in 2014, where he
assumed his current roles. He was named managing director in 2006 and partner in 2010.
Jörg earned a Maitrise en Sciences Economiques from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne in 1994, an MPA from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in 1997 and a PhD in Finance from The University of Chicago in 2001.
