Research Challenge

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual global competition, which provides university students with the opportunity to gain hands-on intensive training in financial analysis.

Every year, the CFA Institute Research Challenge introduces up-and-coming finance experts

The global competition allows student teams to gain experience as research analysts and compete against other teams from universities around the globe putting their skills in the field of corporate analysis, valuation, reporting and presentation to the test. Experienced CFA® Charterholders support each team as mentors. Every year in the German national competition, a new company is analysed by the next generation of investment experts. We usually have up to 10 German universities participate in the competition. CFA Society Germany conducted the CFA Institute Research Challenge in Germany for the first time in 2010.

Christian Inci Finalist Research Challenge 2019

"I can recommend this competition to anyone with the curiosity, desire and will to go the famous 'extra mile' and who wants to work in investment banking. In addition to reading thousands of pages of annual reports, researching for market studies, various analyses and evaluations, you need comprehensive soft skills in project management and in dealing with different personalities in a team."

A Voice of a subject company

The CFA Institute Research Challenge holds learning experiences for everyone involved, not just the students, as Florian Jehle, Senior Vice President Strategic Initiatives,
Technology & Innovation Management, of the 2019 subject company Fresenius Medical Care explains.
