German Advocacy Committee

The work of the GAC focuses on the development of positions and the further development of professional standards in the financial sector.

About the German Advocacy Committee

The German Advocacy Committee (GAC) is the expert body of CFA Society Germany, serving as the central voice for the society's advocacy efforts. This interdisciplinary group of 18 members plays an important role in shaping the society's professional positions and advancing best practices in the financial sector in Germany.

Their work results in professional articles, presentations, and studies, often incorporating feedback from the entire CFA Society Germany membership through surveys.

Additionally, the committee is closely involved in the CFA Institute's advocacy efforts at the EU level, ensuring that the perspectives of the German investment community are represented in Brussels. The committee meets regularly and is called upon for consultations with the EU Commission, matters concerning the CFA Institute, and other significant topics.

Within the GAC, members work in various working groups on a range of current issues. Learn more about the working groups here.

What is the composition of the German Advocacy Committee?

The committee is made up of distinguished university professors, entrepreneurs and investment experts - they all have achieved the CFA Charter or the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement™ (CIPM) and are members of CFA Society Germany.
