PENSIONS
The working group is addressing pensions in Germany.
The working group addresses pensions in Germany and offers reform proposals.
The topic of retirement provision is more important than ever in light of demographic change and the current discussions about the long-term stability of the pension system. In particular, the private pension system has seen only limited development in recent years. CFA Society Germany continues to see a fundamental need for reform in this area.
In 2019, the working group published its first "Position Paper Reform of State-Subsidized Old-Age Provision in Germany", which was reissued in 2022 in an updated summary version, receiving widespread acclaim.
With this third edition in 2026, the authors present specific proposals for solutions for occupational and, in particular, private pension provision, drawing on international pension systems for comparison. To this end, they have looked abroad to draw inspiration for possible alternative designs from international pension systems.
